Our Alliance Lorneville Plant is located near Invercargill in the South Island of New Zealand. We process sheep, cattle and deer in one of the largest meat processing plants in the country.

Climate and Weather:
In Southland, during the months of December, January and February you are most likely to experience good days with pleasant average temperatures that fall between 20 degrees Celsius (68°F) and 25 degrees Celsius (77°F). The coldest month is July with an average maximum temperature of 8 degrees Celsius (46°F).

Skilled Jobs

Knifehands/Boners

We are looking for experienced Knife Hands/Boners to start mid-July, Day Shift and Night Shift roles available. We need you to have previous meat processing experience, knife handling and sharpening skills and capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.

The role

  • Cutting and separating meat into specific standardised cuts and portions using a combination of bandsaws & knives.
  • Bone out/cut carcases to required specification.
  • Removing cuts from carcass sides & quarters, using specified cutting lines whilst obtaining maximum yield.
  • Trim and sort meat to required specification.
  • Identify and isolate product risk/faults and re-work as required.
  • Any other further processing tasks as reasonably required.
  • Knives are kept to an acceptable sharpness and used safely.
