Our Alliance Nelson Plant is located in Stoke at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. We process sheep.

Climate and Weather:

Temperatures are mild compared with the rest of the country, with the region’s close proximity to the sea resulting in a relative lack of extreme high and extreme low temperatures. Temperatures exceeding 30°C are rare in coastal areas.

Nelson receives plenty of sunshine, particularly in Nelson City where average annual sunshine hours (approx 2,400 hours) are among the highest recorded in New Zealand.

What are the hours for shifts at Nelson?

Shift start/finish times vary by department, dayshift generally between 6.00am and 3.30pm, with nightshift hours generally between 4.00pm and 1.00am.

What is the closest city to Nelson?

The Alliance plant is located at Stoke, which is on the outskirts of Nelson city and on the way to Richmond. You can find accommodation in Nelson, Richmond, Motueka or in the smaller surrounding townships and rural areas.
