Climate and Weather:
Temperatures are mild compared with the rest of the country, with the region’s close proximity to the sea resulting in a relative lack of extreme high and extreme low temperatures. Temperatures exceeding 30°C are rare in coastal areas.
Nelson receives plenty of sunshine, particularly in Nelson City where average annual sunshine hours (approx 2,400 hours) are among the highest recorded in New Zealand.

Meat Process Workers
Our new processing season has begun at our Nelson site!
We’re accepting applications for Meat Process Workers for Night Shift roles at our Nelson Plant.
Right now, we’re looking for:
- Experienced Butchers /Boners
- Slaughter Board Labourers and Knife Hands
- Further Processing Labourers
- Freezer Labourers
- Shepherds
- Cleaner
- Forklift driver – F and OSH
Te Tūranga – The role:
- Earn a guaranteed minimum of $30.90 per hour across a day, inclusive of allowances
- Nightshift hours Yards and Slaughter Board – 4:30pm – 2:30am
- Nightshift hours Further Processing – 5:30pm – 3:30am

The Alliance plant is located at Stoke, which is on the outskirts of Nelson city and on the way to Richmond. You can find accommodation in Nelson, Richmond, Motueka or in the smaller surrounding townships and rural areas.
