Our Alliance Smithfield Plant is located in Timaru in the South Island of New Zealand. We process sheep and deer.

Climate and Weather:
Timaru District covers 2,737 square kilometres of South Canterbury. Two rivers naturally define its northern and southern boundaries, the Rangitata and Pareora, with the district stretching along the gentle curve of the South Canterbury coastline.

The district enjoys a temperate climate, with Timaru enjoying an annual average of 1,826 hours of sunshine and 573mm of rain.

Smithfield is located in Timaru which is the main centre in South Canterbury. Most of our workers find accommodation in Timaru or nearby Temuka.  Timaru itself is 2 hours drive from Christchurch.
